Prep time 15-20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate milk
  • 2 scoops chocolate ice cream
  • 2 tbsp marshmallow
  • 1 tbsp dark chocolate chips
  • ½ cup oat milk (any milk can be used )
  • 1/3 cup your favourite chocolate (I used dark chocolate)
  • 2-3 squares blonde or salted caramel chocolate (for garnish)
  • Chocolate sauce (optional)

Directions

Melt your favorite chocolate (heat it gently in a double boiler on a stove or in 30 second increments in a microwave.) While still warm spread chocolate on the inside and outside of the glass and drizzle the inside rim of your glass with it.

In your blender mix ice cream, chocolate milk and oat milk and blend until smooth.

Pour your shake into the glass gently.

Now its time to decorate the glass (you can do this before pouring your shake, but doing it after means it will stay intact).

Shred white or salted caramel chocolate into fine pieces and stick it into the edges, add some marshmallow and chocolate chips have fun with it.

Top with a whipped cream and garnish with remaining marshmallows and dark chocolate chips or chocolate sauce. Serve cold with a straw. Enjoy!

Variation Ideas:

Use different types of chips – like white chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, or cherry!

Top with crushed graham crackers, crushed peanuts, or other types of chopped candy (like Snickers or Twix!)

Add fresh fruit to the top, like bananas, strawberries, or cherries. Or dried fruit, like cranberries or pineapple!

Top with crushed cookies, like Oreos, vanilla wafers, or Chips Ahoy.

Instead of chocolate sauce, use caramel or strawberry sauce.

You could also create a toppings bar and let everyone add their own toppings!

FAQ Section

Can I use a different flavor of ice cream for the milkshake?

Absolutely! While chocolate ice cream is the star of this recipe, feel free to experiment with other flavors like vanilla, caramel, or even mint chocolate chip to create your own unique twist.

How can I make this shake dairy-free?

You can easily make a dairy-free version by using your favorite dairy-free chocolate ice cream and almond, soy, or oat milk. Make sure to check that your toppings, like marshmallows and chocolate, are also dairy-free.

What type of chocolate should I use for the melted chocolate topping?

We recommend using high-quality dark or milk chocolate for the melted topping. If you have a sweet tooth, milk chocolate is a great choice, but dark chocolate adds a rich, intense flavor that pairs beautifully with the other ingredients.

How do I get the perfect consistency for the milkshake?

To achieve the perfect thick and creamy consistency, blend your ice cream and milk until smooth, adding more ice cream if it’s too thin or more milk if it’s too thick. For an extra frothy texture, blend on high speed for an additional 30 seconds.

Can I add other toppings to the shake?

Of course! The sky’s the limit when it comes to toppings. Feel free to add whipped cream, chocolate chips, sprinkles, crushed cookies, or even a drizzle of caramel or peanut butter sauce to make your shake even more extravagant.
