Easter Frosting & Cookies Board

Servings: Makes 1.5 cup of frosting, 2 dozen cookies, use as many additional ingredients as needed to fill your size board
Chocolate Chip Cookie Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cup all purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
Frosting Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted room temp butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1-2 Tbsp heavy cream (depending on consistency desired)
- Pinch of salt (to taste)
- Yellow food coloring
Extra ingredients for treat board:
- Pink strawberry wafers
- Graham crackers
- Marshmallow Peeps
- Jelly Beans
- For decorating the egg: Pink M&Ms, mini chocolate chips, sprinkles
Chocolate Chip Cookies Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
To make the cookie dough, soften the butter in the microwave until almost but not quite melted.
With a mixing spoon combine the butter, sugar, vanilla and egg in a large bowl.
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt.
Slowly add the dry to wet ingredients and mix for about a minute or until ingredients are fully combined.
Scoop cookies onto a baking sheet in 1 Tbsp sized balls placed about two inches apart.
Bake for 9-10 minutes.
Buttercream Frosting Directions:
Add the room temperature butter to a large mixing bowl. Mix on medium – high speed for 1 minute.
On medium speed, slowly add the powdered sugar, heavy cream and vanilla.
Pause to scrape the sides and taste to see if salt is needed. Continue to mix for another 30 seconds on medium-high speed.
Add drops of yellow food coloring until desired shade has been reached.
Transfer the frosting to a piping bag.
Assembling the Easter Egg Frosting Board:
To assemble the board, pipe a large oval and fill in completely. Use an offset spatula to even out the frosting.
Line the outside with M&Ms and decorate with mini chocolate chips and sprinkles.
Fill in the remaining spaces with cookies, wafers, graham crackers, etc and enjoy!
Note: You can prepare the buttercream frosting and cookies a day in advance and store them in airtight containers. Assemble the board just before serving to ensure everything stays fresh and delicious.
